Virgin Orbit is a Virgin Group firm and offers affordable smallsat launch services. The first Virgin Orbit spacecraft, LauncherOne was air-launched from a dedicated 747-400 carrier aircraft and successfully placed 10 CubeSats into Low Earth Orbit (LEO). LauncherOne is scheduled to launch in October 2022 from the UK launch site. The modified Boeing 747-400 used by Virgin Orbit to launch its rockets is called Cosmic Girl.
