Japan’s Astroscale partners with New Zealand’s Ministry of Business Innovation & Employment (MBIE) for a multi-object active debris removal mission using a single servicing spacecraft aboard Rocket Lab’s Photon satellite bus starting 2023. (Source)

RocketLab‘s ‘Love At First Insight’ mission gets delayed till November 16. This mission will deploy BlackSky‘s eighth and ninth satellites, which are integrated by Spaceflight aboard RL’s Electron rocket making it the fifth mission of 2021. (Source)

EnduroSat partners with Isar Aerospace to launch its multiple next-gen satellites from the Andoya launch site starting 2022 through 2025. (Source)

Spaceflight will launch 13 customer payloads for Capella Space, Umbra Space, Lynk Global, Inc., Kleos Space, NASA, Czech Aerospace Research Centre in partnership with Spacemanic, Space Products and Innovation (SPiN), and Portland State Aerospace Society across two distinct orbits with its new orbital transfer vehicle with chemical propulsion, Sherpa-LTC1 as part of the SpaceX Transporter-3 mission scheduled for Q1 2022. SpaceX partners with Geometric Energy Corp and two blockchain companies Unizen and ZenX, to build and launch a fully dogecoin-funded DOGE-1 CubeSat to lunar orbit in 2022. (Source)

Lockheed Martin received a $737M order from US Space Force to build three more GPS III follow-on military communications satellites based on Lockheed’s LM 2100 satellite bus. (Source)

Politecnico di Milano contracts GomSpace to support its H.E.R.M.E.S. Mission with technical expertise for their upcoming constellation of 6 smallsats by 2024. (Source)

A United Launch Alliance Atlas V 551 launch that would have deployed the Space Test Program-3 mission for the U.S. Space Force gets delayed till December due to a space vehicle processing issue. This mission to GSO will consist of two spacecraft, the Space Test Program Satellite-6 (STPSat-6) and the Long Duration Propulsive ESPA-1 (LDPE-1) built by Northrop Grumman. (Source)

Northrop Grumman’s hypersonic and ballistic missile-tracking satellite for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency passes a critical design review and will be delivered to the agency in 2023. (Source)

Iceye partners with the insurance tech company McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS) to provide flood analysis using its SAR satellite constellation, which it plans to expand to 18 sats in 2022. (Source)

AAC Clyde Space completes the Preliminary Design Review of the first phase of the xSPANCION project that aims to develop a satellite constellation service with ten novel spacecraft and four demonstrations spacecraft in 2023. (Source)

In partnership with the National Center for Space Studies of France and Ariane Group, Senegal will launch the country’s first satellite into space in 2023. (Source)

Japan’s Epsilon 5 rocket launched nine small satellites, making it the fifth successful flight of the Epsilon rocket, see the list:

  • The primary payload, Rapid Innovative Payload Demonstration Satellite No. 2 (RAISE-2) and Z-Sat built by Mitsubishi Electric Corp.;
  • Hibari mission by Tokyo Institute of Technology, TeikyoSat 4 mission by Teikyo University, ASTERISC mission by Chiba Institute of Technology, KOSEN-1 by Kochi National College of Technology, and ARICA satellite by the Aoyama Gakuin University;
  • Debris Removal Unprecedented Micro Satellite (DRUMS) built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries;
  • NanoDragon CubeSat developed by Vietnam National Space Center. (Source)
